Only the best life

I am Hugh Lasberg. I am a senior at Cheshire academy. I have been at this school for four years and I have really enjoyed my time here. I live in Ridgefield Connecticut and was born in buffalo New York. I play golf and football and I used to play a lot of baseball when I was younger.  I ski raced for 12 years of my life until I fell and broke my leg bringing a sudden end to my career.  I was supposedly good enough to join the United States national junior team that year so it was very upsetting to me.

But I have many positive things that have happened to me during my life as well. I am an accomplished golf player. I am a successful student. I will be attending a college next year no matter what (even though I haven't decided which one yet). I have a Presidential community service award for over 100 hours of community service in a community that is considered poor. I received this medal because I went on a service trip to Costa Rica for one summer and helped the community build houses and paint the streets to make the city look nicer. I also worked with kids and helped them learn some English. I have hiked the Adirondack trail and I have summited over 100 mountains across the world. I have a girlfriend and my favorite color is blue. I enjoy all types of music but I prefer electronic edm music. This past weekend I went to a concert in the city and listened to some edm and I had a blast. I do not yet have a car but I would really enjoy having one!

The reason I chose to be in this class was because I wanted to learn how to become a better speaker and writer. this is the first real class that i’ve taken for public speaking and I have only heard good things about it. The reason I want to become a more successful public speaker is because I understand the importance of public speaking now. You use it everywhere you go whether it is home or in front of a huge crowd of people.

This is a picture of me in Costa Rica building a house for the finca which is a place where people can go if they want to turn their lives around. I met many good people at the finca and I was very glad that I could help them out. This is just one of the many houses that we built in Costa Rica.
